First Event of 2018
As usual, for Rob Jenner and Letitia Mace the new year events began with The Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club Racing Awards Dinner at The Stratford Manor Hotel near Stratford upon Avon.
Of our many friends who attend, we were privileged to be sharing a table with Chris Keith-Lucas of CKL Ltd, Phil Wheeden of Kelsey Publishing and Helen Hodgson, JEC Marketing Manager.
Swallows Racing had their first experience of the Racing Awards Dinner, scooping up one of the coveted awards, and when I visited them at their base in Somerset after the event, they said how much they had enjoyed it!
Helen snapped a shot of us dancing – or trying to! Amazing how brave a drop of wine can make you – first on the dance floor, to try to entice others to follow, which in due course they did in their droves! An extremely good night out!
Many thanks, once again, to Terry Dye, Competitions Secretary, Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club Racing, for providing an extremely entertaining evening!
|Letitia & Rob, thanks so much for your support last Saturday.
I know I can always rely on you to support racing on behalf of the JEC and, in the absence of Peter [Purdom], it was most important for the main club to be represented.
To cap it all, the drivers commented that you were both great fun, and very impressive on the dance floor.😊
Again many thanks
|Visiting Sturgess Jaguar
Last year Rob Jenner and Letitia Mace visited Sturgess Jaguar in Leicester on a number of occasions, with and without Brucie!
|Looking back once more to the NEC Classic Motor Show in November 2017, this month’s News Round-up shows me and Michael Byng with the C-X75. Made to measure for some, but not for others! Jaguar C-X75

|Andrew Panter sent us a lovely email to thank us for his ‘Brucie’ calendar!
Dear Letitia and Rob,
It was great to see you both again on Thursday and meet the rest of the JEC gang.
When we got home it seemed like Christmas had arrived early with your colourful bag of surprise goodies. What a great record of the Jaguar Festival and Brucie’s key part in the celebration. It was really kind of you to prepare the special calendar of both Brucie’s visit to his old home and his part in the Festival starring members of my family.
In addition, the framed photos etc will provide a great souvenir of the Festival and take pride of place on my study. Many thanks for everything.
|Hopefully it will not be too long before we get an opportunity to meet up again. Meanwhile Tui and I wish you both a very happy Christmas and a healthy New Year.
With best wishes, Andrew
The refurbishment of Brucie’s headlining is the subject of Brucie’s Diary next month.
|Having been asked by Paul Keating, developer of the XJ40 Register, to provide details of my 1988 3.6 XJ40 Sovereign for a feature, I realised that I had never given Opium a full introduction in her own right on my website!
So, this is OPIUM!
