Welcome to the latest Xclusively Jaguar News Round Up!
The cover picture featured here is from Xclusively Jaguar News – August 2009 – the oldest surviving issue of Xclusively Jaguar News!
It celebrated the first anniversary of Xclusively Jaguar and is the last issue of the newsletter produced in the first website design, before it was changed for the following issue in September 2009.
The history of Xclusively Jaguar News
The first few issues of the newsletter were emailed out as a pdf and after this the newsletter was based on a dedicated page of the website. 36 issues survive, dating from August 2009 to July 2012, uninterrupted.
The website was later hosted by another company and August, September, October and November 2012 appear to have been lost, along with March 2013 through to November 2015 when the current website was established. (No newsletters were produced for December 2012 or January and February 2013 as my late husband was taken seriously ill and passed away).
The 36 surviving issues, from August 2009 to July 2012, are the sole subject of this month’s newsletter, just to bring everything up-to-date before we move forward!
Yes, it’s old news as someone was very quick to point out, but there is valuable data in these newsletters and so I think it is important that it is preserved and circulated. There are also links to other surviving pages of the old website, with data relating to models and registers, not all of which has been transferred to the new website. Some registers are now obsolete or are in the hands of new registrars, details of whom I can supply in most cases.
It is also a record of how Xclusively Jaguar News has changed and evolved over the past 10 years.
It is well worth having a look through them, as you will find all kinds of information and the Jaguar news and show reports of the day!
The next step, time permitting, is to individually index specific items.

D-Types needed for the Bo’ness Revival Hillclimb
31 August – 1st September 2019
The organisers of the Bo’ness Revival, Scotland’s premier historic hillclimb event, have asked for a call out to all drivers who compete in D-Types, real or replica, with a view to them entering this year’s special Jim Clark Class in the hill climb. The event already has a replica of the Border Reivers D-Type for the display in the show field, but more are needed to compete in the hillclimb.
The Jaguar Enthusiasts Club are sponsoring the Saltire Rally, which is a competitive Historic Rally and Production Car Autotest event, with regularity sections and other features. The hillclimb event this year commemorates the anniversary of Jim Clark’s appearance at the event in 1959.
All models of Jaguar are welcome at Bo’ness for a superb weekend.

NORMAN DEWIS OBE
Dear Friends of Norman Dewis OBE,
Our good friend Norman Dewis is not in the best of health at the moment and we are looking at a few ways to help Norman enjoy his time ahead. With this in mind we are creating a Trust Fund for Norman. The Trust Deed has been prepared and duly executed by Hopkins Solicitors LLP in their offices, which are based in Nottinghamshire and the Trust Fund will be governed by the terms of the Trust Deed and the appointed Trustees are John Butterworth and Tony O’Keeffe.
Norman still lives at home by himself and the money raised will be used to provide comforts for him. This will include personal care and home help to assist with housework, laundry, gardening and cleaning etc.
We are approaching many of Norman’s friends to see if they would be willing to donate £100 (or more or less) to the Norman Dewis OBE Trust Fund.
Any donations can be paid into the Trust Fund account.
Account number 15094030
Sort code 01 00 85
Please make the reference Norman Dewis OBE Trust Fund.
The funds will be fully audited and managed in accordance with the Trust Deed for Norman’s personal benefit. Any surplus funds left after the death of Norman will be donated to Hope House Hospice. This is a charity very close to Norman which looks after terminally ill children and this is his wish.
Norman is fully aware of what we are doing and he would like to thank all the Jaguar Family for taking the time in doing this for him.
Due to GDPR it is not possible to identify names that this email has been sent to. However, if you would like to pass this on to friends of Norman, please do so.
