Welcome to the latest Xclusively Jaguar News Round Up!
This month’s cover picture is a collage from Alexander Stupnicki and relates to the letter below.
As promised, find enclosed some pictures of our Journey in southern England…
Thank you very much for your help – next time I would wait your suggestions , for sure!
The problem with the brakes was fixed fine by Barrett Jaguars in Canterbury. So we could go to Goodwood for a day – that was very impressive! – and then we went to Cambridge and Birmingham (made a short visit at Dennis Welch BigHealey, because I own a 100–6 from 1957 to get some parts…) with a stop at the British motor museum and then London. The journey back to Bern was done in 12 hrs and easy ( except the fuel consumption of the Jag of 17.5 L/100km…-)
I will try to inspire some friends of mine (one of them has one of the first XJS Coupé from 1976) to come the the Goodwood Revival in September 2020, then I would let you know.
NEWS, EVENTS AND REQUESTS
XJ’s and XJS’s WANTED
1. White Pre-HE XJ-S for a photoshoot near Elstree in late September/early October.
Fuel costs will be refunded.
Contact: Andrew Roberts on 07923 896530
2. Practical Classics
Matt Tomkins, Projects Editor at Practical Classics Magazine is looking for an XJ-S or XJS to appear in a forthcoming feature. Any era, but would love to find a brightly coloured car to make the feature really ‘pop’.
The shoot is planned to take place on Wednesday October 2nd near Peterborough, and will be a static shoot, so the car will be well looked after and certainly not ‘thrashed’ in anyway.
Petrol costs will be paid.
Contact Matt Tomkins on 01733 468640
3. Classic and Sports Car
Andrew at Classic and Sport car is after the following cars for a ‘Minder’ themed October photo shoot.
The shoot will take place in West London and fuel costs will be refunded.
A) An XJ6 4.2 S2 in silver
B) A Daimler Sovereign 4.2 S3 in Beige
C) An XJ40 (quad headlamps) in Silver
If anyone can help with this request please contact Mark Sutherland, Jaguar Driver XJ News Correspondent at email@example.com

These are standing invitations.
I was invited to go to Norway in June to do a presentation on Xclusively Jaguar at the Norsk Jaguar Klubb Annual Assembly in Alesund.
My presentation went out to a large audience and I was very pleased with the response, particularly from the ladies who were impressed that I had taken on something which is still dominated by men. Gaynor Cauter will appreciate my thoughts as she will encounter the same challenges in her work!
I would be happy to repeat my presentation to any JDC Areas who may be interested. Please contact me at Letitia@exclusively-jaguar.co.uk to discuss dates etc.
JDC Essen Tour – March 2020
Places may be available for non-JDC members on request.
Mike Hawthorn Memorial Lunches
This year’s anniversary of Mike’s Championship happens to fall on Saturday the 19th October. Thus there will only be one of these events this autumn.
So it should be well attended as there will be no weekday version.
The ’Barley Mow’ opens at 11am. Meals are chosen from the menu of the day and ordered at the bar.
Mike’s close-friend Tom Mayhew must have driven the furthest to these events over the last 16 years as he does so from Cornwall.
