Brucie MoT October 2016 Brucie MoT October 2016

Well that’s Brucie MOT’d for another year, with no advisories, and on 4th November 2016 Brucie will have been with me for 6 years, and in that time we’ve covered nearly 40,000 miles together!

Looking back recently, at some of my old Jaguar records, I discovered that I had purchased my first Jaguar X300 4 litre Sovereign on 4th November 2005 – 5 years to the day before I purchased Brucie !! The first was a Sapphire Blue SWB, and I learnt a lot about Jaguars between buying my first, and my current Jaguars!

As Brucie is now approaching 20 years of age, and will not be used in the winter, I decided that it was time for him to have some necessary bodywork restoration done, so at the end of this month he will be off to The Body Shop in Berwick-upon-Tweed.

I am currently updating details in Brucie’s Diary: Introduction and creating an index of topics covered. These include, among others: Servicing an X300

Grampian JEC Region – 14th October 2016

Rob Jenner and JEC Grampian Region members

Everyone, including the ladies, were clearly enjoying themselves at our recent visit to the Grampian Region of the JEC by invitation of Jim Mann, where Rob did a talk on his life with cars! For a region whose members are well spread out, a turnout of twenty was very rewarding!

Following his official talk, Rob found a new way to hold members interest a while longer with the aid of his mobile phone! Rob Jenner and JEC Grampian Region members

Grampian Transport Museum – 15th October 2016

The following morning we took advantage of being on the doorstep of Grampian Transport Museum where we were surprised to find the earlist surviving Daimler car, on loan from the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust.

The only other Jaguar in the museum was a 1967 Primrose Series 1 E-type Coupe.

Edinburgh JEC Region – 16th October 2016

JEC Edinburgh Region at the National Mining Museum, Scotland

Our local JEC region arranged a visit to the National Mining Museum, Scotland. We are a far flung region, so a turnout of 12 members on a miserable Sunday morning was considered a good one!

We began our visit to the museum with morning coffee, courtesy of local club funds, and finished off with lunch at The Cockatoo, which is the venue for our monthly meetings.

Pauline and Ronald, JEC Edinburgh Region Congratulations are in order for Pauline and Ronald Ferguson (pictured left) who loyally support the JEC, both nationally and locally, and were awarded the cup for attending the most meetings and events in 2016.
