Following a meeting of the representatives of all the participating clubs, it is all systems go for The Bo’ness Revival Classic 2018, which takes place at Scotland’s first purpose built motor sport venue, opened in 1934.

The Bo’ness Revival is actually two events in one, in that it is Scotland’s only combined Historic motor sport and Classic Car event with the emphasis firmly on action and participation over the weekend programme.

 Activities kick off on Saturday with the Bo’ness Revival Classic Road Tour and the Bo’ness Saltire Trophy starting from the Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway Preservation Society’s station in Bo’ness town centre. The Road Tour will take in the gentle Borders countryside, with a mid-way break for lunch or refreshments in Duns, home of the Jim Clark museum and all being well a visit to the museum shall be included.

The Tour shall return to the finish back at Bo’ness station. The Bo’ness Saltire Trophy is a genuine competitive Historic Rally type event and includes Autotests and Regularity section, but all without the requirement for a competition licence, crash helmets etc.

Sunday shall see an expected 450 cars from 34 clubs in the Revival Classic Showfield. Running all day in the Showfield Arena under the control of Wayne Scott shall be the Carkhana competition together with interviews and features of participating owners and their cars. There are numerous awards up for grabs for which all entrants are eligible.

Whilst all of this is going on there are two days of Historic motor sport taking place on the tricky Bo’ness Hillclimb course, with over one hundred cars spanning seven decades of motor sport battling it out for honours.

Provisional Order of Events

Saturday 1st September

08.00. Bo’ness Revival Classic Showfield opens. Only cars displaying the Bo’ness Revival Classic Entry Pass on their windscreen shall be allowed entry to the Showfield, any car not displaying an Entry Pass shall be directed to the public car park.

08.00. Entrants for the Road Tour and the Bo’ness Saltire Trophy assemble at the Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway Station in Bo’ness town centre, please do not go to the Showfield.

09.30. First car in the Bo’ness Saltire Trophy departs from Bo’ness Railway Station.

10.00. First car in the Bo’ness Revival Road Tour departs from Bo’ness Railway Station.

12.30. Cars start to arrive at the Mid-Way break.

13.15. First car departs Mid-Way break.

16.00. Cars start to arrive back at the Bo’ness Railway Station.

 

Sunday 2nd September

10.00. Activities in the Arena commence.

Interviews with the owners of participating cars and general features of interest commence.

Bo’ness Revival Classic Club Stand Competition judging commences

Bo’ness Revival Classic ‘Car of the Event’ judging commences on club stands.

Only cars which have participated in the Road Tour or the Bo’ness Saltire Trophy are eligible for this award.

 

BHCR ‘Best Individual Entry’ judging commences in the Individual Entries area.

15.00.  Finalists for Bo’ness Revival Classic trophies enter the Arena.

16.00. Presentation of all trophies as follows,
