An Epic Journey Fuelled With Fascinating Events
||One Moore for the Road…
By David Moore
Following the two Le Mans wins in 1988 and 1990 it was David’s dream to join Jaguar Cars.
At the start of his career he had no idea of the journey he was about to take.
His career path takes you all over the globe from the heat of the Texas desert with its snakes and tarantulas to the chilling cold of Northern Ontario where the temperatures make your nose hairs freeze.
The stories look at the secret and intimate world of vehicle development but also the friendships and people he has met on the journey from Royalty to Rock Stars and Actors to Athletes.
His job also linked him in with the RAF where he fulfilled a lifelong ambition to fly a Jaguar fighter jet and ended up also flying a hawk jet, painting a military aircraft and assisting the Red Arrows at special events.
The stories are told with a great sense of British humour that will appeal to everyone.
It’s an amazing collection of fascinating events and stories written by a man who has a real passion for what he does.
The book includes a Foreword by Jay Leno.
||David Moore was born in 1964 and grew up in Nuneaton, England. He gained an HNC/HND from Nuneaton Technical College and then went on to earn a Degree in Manufacturing/Engineering at Coventry University. He went onto Commercial and Aerospace Engineering before joining Jaguar Cars in 1990. David worked his way through the company from Resource & Data Management, Vehicle Proving, Specific Vehicle Testing, Competitor Vehicles, Vehicle Office, Special Vehicle Operations and finally into JLR Classic.
||Having worked in Commercial, Aerospace and Automotive engineering for 39 years David thought it was about time to put pen to paper.
In 1988 & 1990 he watched Jaguar win at Le Mans and fell in love with the race car and the brand. He joined Jaguar in 1991 and never looked back. As part of the durability test team he went all over the world testing and loved every minute. In 1999 he was asked to drive a car 10,000 miles in 10 days through Australia that became his most epic of trips and on the flight back he read a book by Bill Bryson (Jaguar Importer for Australia) that made him decide to write a book.
Fast forward 21 years and ‘One Moore for the Road’ is an inside look at some of the fascinating events and amazing people that David has been involved with to produce some gorgeous cars.

I am really looking forward to reading this book, as David Moore has worked with several friends of mine, namely, Tony O’keeffe (Jaguar Classic), Martin Joyce and Graham Tarver (both ex-Jaguar engineers).
