CMC –  A Brief History

Founded in 1993 by three people united in their passion for Jaguars, and in the restoration of all classic Jaguar cars to the highest possible standard. CMC provide a Jaguar restoration service, from the early Austin Swallow, through to the SS100, XK120, XK140, XK150, MK2, E-type, and XJS models.

CMC have the skills necessary to produce a fully restored classic Jaguar of the utmost quality. Furthermore, CMC are experts in all mechanical and body work repairs required on any classic Jaguar, including aluminium panel making, re-chroming, and re-painting. The CMC classic Jaguar repair service specifies that all the work done is to an original Jaguar specification. CMC costs are very competitive and well worth consideration. CMC pride themselves on their ability to solve problems relating to any classic Jaguar, and keep photographic records of any repair.

An initial aim was to be recognised as a leading Jaguar restoration company, and over the last 20 years the company has realised this ambition. Today, Classic Motor Cars occupies a modern industrial premises with world-class facilities situated on the Stanmore Industrial Estate near Bridgnorth, Shropshire, in England.

CMC continue to invest and develop their business in a modern 35,000 square foot facility, encompassing general servicing bays, machine shop, electrical workshop, stores, body shop, trim shop and final assembly area.

Being able to store your car with one of the world’s premier car restoration companies in a brand new 24,000 sq. ft. facility next to its award winning workshops gives a peace of mind never available before to caring owners.

Facilities include:

Secure and safe storage: Fully alarmed building with 24hr manned security.

Brand new building: Dry and insulated.

Conveniently located with direct links into London and international airports: Just 15 minutes from Wolverhampton with direct rail links into London. Birmingham airport is less than an hour away and within easy reach of the M6 and M54.

Full international concierge service: For you and your car. We can collect or deliver your car from anywhere in the UK in our own covered transport. We can also arrange delivery or collection from and to anywhere in the world, and whenever you want to visit your car, we can pick you up from rail stations or airports.

 

CHOICE OF SERVICES

Bronze Storage

Initial check in with detailed inspection report. Car washed, dried and waxed. Tyres over-inflated to avoid flat spots. Dust sheet cover and vehicle inspected weekly.

Silver Storage

As above plus weekly vehicle roll, fluid levels checked, hydraulics operated and engine run up to temperature once a month.

Gold Storage

As above plus car stored in an atmospherically controlled air chamber, engine run up to temperature twice a month and weather permitting, a ten mile salt-free test drive with a report once a month.

 

OPTIONAL SERVICES

Our world-class team of craftsmen can attend to minor work whilst your car is in our care or even major component or body repairs.

Winter or summer service

Your car will be looked after throughout the year. We can prepare it for use during the summer or winter seasons.

Event preparation

We can prepare a car for any event you are taking part in. Whether it is a classic car rally or a Concours d’Elegance, your car will be prepared with the same dedication and attention to detail as any of our award winning vehicles.

Rallying and racing

Fully tested, serviced, tyres checked, cleaned, event regulations met and on the button ready for scrutineering. Event support can be provided if required.

Concours

We can prepare and detail cars to award winning standards ready for collection or delivery on our covered transport to an event.

Detailing

We have the skills to transform a car by taking it through a complete makeover. Starting with paint, not only using trade polishes and commercial buffing tools, but with our in-house paint shop team we can rectify minor defects so that it will look as good as new.

Trim can be cleaned and re-connolised if necessary, carpets cleaned or replaced.

The chassis and engine bay detail will be determined by the client’s requirements.

A CMC detail will add to the value of your car and help protect it from the rigours of everyday motoring.

Collection Management

Building a collection needs help in sourcing, checking and housing your vehicles. Our team of experts can provide the assistance required to create a unique collection.
