The Andrew Whyte Memorial Lecture was very memorable for us this year, and as such, I felt it deserved to be reported upon independently under the title AWML 2017 Report

The first Christmas event in our calendar was held at Victoria Barracks in Windsor, by kind permission of Lt. Colonel James Thurstan, Officer Commanding 1st Battalion, Coldstream Guards.
The Reception and Presentation Dinner attended by HRH The Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex KG, GCVO was to commemorate The Royal Windsor Jaguar Festival.
This grand and memorable occasion was also attended by Admiral Sir James Perowne, KBE, Constable & Governer of Windsor Castle, along with members of The Rotary Club of Windsor and Eton, The Trustees of the Prince Philip Trust Fund for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and eleven Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club Board and Committee Members.
Among those eleven Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club members, were Rob Jenner and Letitia Mace. For Rob this was particularly poignant as his father, the late Alan Jenner, had been a Coldstream Guard. It also had special significance for Letitia, as The Royal Windsor Jaguar Festival came about as a result of a conversation between Andrew Panter (first owner of ‘Brucie’ P468 NLN) and Letitia Mace (Brucie’s current owner).
By way of saying thankyou to Andrew Panter, Letitia Mace had a special one-off calendar made, which can be seen via the link below, and handed this to Andrew, along with four framed official JEC prints taken by the Gage family, of Brucie in the Windsor Castle Quadrangle.
After a superb dinner, Rotarian Andrew Panter, MBE, DL, Trustee of The Prince Philip Trust Fund addressed the assembled company and presented the cheque for £106,000, raised by the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club through our Windsor Jaguar Festival and sales of raffle tickets for this year’s prize draw car (a Jaguar XK Convertible) to HRH Prince Edward on behalf of The Prince Philip Trust Fund.
Stewart Miller & Peter James Insurance, who provided a £350 insurance voucher for the JEC’s raffle car, provide a detailed report on this event, which is reproduced here, under the title Windsor Cheque Presentation

Georg Dönni – 14th December 2017
Returning home from Brighouse, where Rob and I had been treated to dinner by Jamie Ryan, Managing Director of Millers Oils and his wife Ann-Marie, we spotted a Mark 1 Jaguar heading south on the A1 just north of Alnwick. Rob recognised the registration number as being that of Swiss Jaguar Specialist, Georg Dönni. While Rob turned our X350 round, I phoned Georg on his mobile. His co-driver, Balthasar Bessenich answered and told Georg to pull into the next turning and wait for us. Ten minutes later we were all in a local pub enjoying a coffee and having an end of year catch up! Georg and fellow Mark 1 owner Balthasar had just completed ‘LEJOG’ and were on their way to the ferry in Newcastle to return to Switzerland.
