You & Your Jaguar XK(8)/XKR: Buying, Enjoying, Maintaining, Modifying
by Nigel Thorley
Jaguar XK/XKR book by Nigel Thorley

It’s true to say that the ‘modern’ XKs and XKRs (1996 – 2014) are far better known today than their classic era (1949 – 1960) predecessors. They were built in hugely greater numbers and are still a moderately common sight on our roads. They are also a very great deal cheaper to buy than a ‘classic’ XK, and many thousands of enthusiasts today enjoy the performance and refinement they offer. In this book Nigel Thorley, long-term editor of Jaguar Enthusiast magazine, gets to grips with all aspects of the cars – buying maintaining and even modifying. Very useful and great value.

Hardback, 224 pages, 21.6 x 2.5 x 27.9cm. £18.95 plus £2.90 P&P UK, £10.96 P&P Europe, £16.35 Rest of World (air)

by Nigel Thorley
Jaguar X-type book by Nigel Thorley

A second title from Nigel Thorley that we have now added to our stocklist. Topics include

> Choosing the right model
> Inspection
> 15-minute evaluation
> What’s it worth?
> Vital statistics

Stirling Moss: The Definitive Biography: Volume 1
by Philip Porter
Stirling Moss Biography book by Philip Porter

Although it is not specifically a Jaguar book, we have adopted this title because Jaguars, in the form of XK 120 and C-type especially, played a very important role in Sir Stirling Moss’s early career. He has always nominated his 1950 Tourist Trophy win in Tommy Wisdom’s XK 120 as being instrumental in getting him into the higher realms of motor racing, leading as it did to him joining the Jaguar works team. This book covers the XK 120, C-type and D-type years, and gives a highly valuable perspective on Moss and Jaguar.

Hardback with jacket, 672 pages, 18.4 x 5.7 x 24.8 cm. £35.00 plus £2.90 P&P UK, £10.96 Europe, £16.35 Rest of World (air).

And now for something completely different…….

Brian & the Grim Reaper! Brian and the Grim Reaper by Eben Skilleter

It has nothing to do with Jaguar, but I hope you will forgive my doing a ‘proud father’ bit… The reason is that my son Eben has just publicly launched his first short film on YouTube, and I would like to help him get it seen as much as possible.

Entitled Brian & the Grim Reaper, he describes it as ‘darkly comic’, and it has been officially accepted by six film festivals.

The story concerns a young man with a year to live who attempts to live in denial. But he can neither run nor hide from his fate. Brian must learn to live with Death – literally – or forever live in fear of him. There’s just one catch: Grim’s the housemate from Hell.

Do feel free to give it a view, and please share it if you enjoy it. The larger the audience this short film receives, the more of them my son will be able to make in the future. Thank you!

It’s available to view free on YouTube:
