Sir Stirling Moss and Rob Jenner welcome a young member onto the JEC stand at the NEC

A very warm welcome was received by one of the world’s most famous motor racing legends, who headed to the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club stand at the weekend’s Classic Motor Show.

As part of a jam-packed schedule, Sir Stirling Moss OBE visited the JEC stand on the Saturday of the pinnacle classic motoring event, at Birmingham’s NEC.

The special guest of Stewart Miller & Peter James Insurance, Sir Stirling was welcomed on to the stand, where he heard all about the prestigious Royal Windsor Jaguar Festival and the money that it will raise for the Prince Philip Trust Fund.

After a number of photo opportunities with club representatives, Sir Stirling took time to admire the gleaming XK Coupe raffle car, soon to be the prized possession of one very lucky winner.

His busy schedule also saw him attracting the crowds with autograph sessions on the Stewart Miller & Peter James Insurance stand and receiving no less than four standing ovations, following his appearance on the Live Stage, where he revealed some of the secrets, thrills and spills of his illustrious motor racing career.

Peter James, director of Stewart Miller & Peter James Insurance, said: “It was a real pleasure to bring Sir Stirling to this pinnacle industry event.

“He certainly received a very warm welcome from the JEC and was delighted to hear about the club’s involvement with the Royal Windsor Jaguar Festival, which is set to become a real highlight of the 2017 Jaguar event calendar, while raising valuable funds for a very worthy cause.”
