Engine Rebuild proves Successful after an Impressive 80 Runs up Hillclimb Track
SNG Barratt’s Series One E-Type has never been a car confined to the garage. Since its restoration in 2011 (coinciding with the model’s 50th Anniversary) it’s been all over the UK and into Europe.
The Hillclimb Day hosted by the company at Shelsley Walsh was sure to be one of the car’s biggest tests. Fresh from the workshop after a complete rebuild of its 4.2 litre engine, it had just a week (and 300 miles) of running in prior to an oil change and final rolling road tests, before being collected ‘en route’ to the venue in Worcestershire.
The company invited over 40 customers to put the car through its paces on the track, and luckily it didn’t disappoint. It completed over 80 runs of the hill, noted as the world’s oldest motorsport venue.
