SNG Barratt’s E-Type takes to the Road for Prostate Cancer
SNG Barratt’s Series One E-Type has never been a car confined to the garage. This September it’s been all over the UK and Scotland on the extraordinary ‘Round Britain Coastal Drive’ for Prostate Cancer UK. The car clocked up over 180 miles a day to help raise awareness and funds to find a cure for one of the most common cancers in men in the world.
The tour completed its epic journey in Goodwood where there were over 70 E-Type Jaguars, some of which have travelled from all over the world.
The car also visited significant Jaguar destinations on its unique voyage, Blackpool where the company was first founded, and Cromer, the birthplace of E-Type designer Malcom Sayer. His family also took part in the ‘Round Britain Coastal Drive’
SNG Barratt’s XF Jaguar also accompanied the‘Round Britain Costal Drive’expedition providing break down support for all of the E-Type Jaguars on the duration of the 18 day tour.
Julian Barratt who completed the Scottish stages of the tour, was overwhelmed by the hospitality they received: “As a company we were thrilled to be able to support this tour for such a good cause, and the journey will live long in the memory. Every time we returned to the cars after lunch, or stopped for a photo opportunity (of which there were many!), there would be an admiring gathering around the car, keen to meet us and ask questions. They helped make every day a pleasure.”
Brucies Diary: September 2016 reported on SNG Barratt’s support in aiding a stricken E-type on the Round Britain Coastal Run on Day 13 at Berwick upon Tweed.
