Drive It Day – In Devon – In Style!

Devon Region – Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club – Drive It Day

Halfway House, Willand

What kind of taxi’s are these?

By 10.30am, when I arrived at The Halfway House in Willand, 3 Jaguars had already claimed 3 prime spaces, so I took the remaining corner, and it appeared that we were marking out our territory!

We enjoyed complimentary elevenses, and by the time we were ready to leave, 18 more Jaguars and Daimlers had filled in the gaps, and the carpark was full, much to the delight of passers by and pub staff!

The 22 Jaguars and Daimlers ranged from a Mark 9 right up to an X351, with everything in between – and all presented fit for parade!

We set off in convoy, and in no particular order, towards Taunton. Then up across Exmoor to lunch at the Ralegh’s Cross Inn

Crowcombe Court
After a fine lunch, we set off once more across Exmoor, heading towards the Quantocks, with our drive culminating at Crowcombe Court, by invitation of the owner, who greeted us warmly and gestured to us to park alongside his newly purchased XK8. Happy to oblige, we were able to park the 22 Jaguars and Daimlers in a neat and continuous line!

The weather was dry and the route was perfect!

An extremely enjoyable day!
