Recently, I was invited up to Arbroath Seafest in Scotland. Brucie doesn’t like salty water or Smokies, so he stayed at home, while I helped Fife and Tayside Vice-Chairman Alistair Gruber, and his wife Margaret (who fed us admirably!), and Events Co-ordinator Brian Macdonald, to sell tickets for the JEC prize draw Jaguar. Alistair and his fellow committee members all felt that the significance of a lifeboat would be understood at such an event.
It was a wet and windy day on the seafront, but sheltered by a gazebo tucked in between two Jaguars, we managed to raise a few smiles and around £800, which along with the takings from similar events at Broughty Ferry (Alistair and Margaret Gruber) and Kinghorn (Brian Macdonald and Jim Thomson), totalled £1200 !!

If you are not already aware, the JEC are currently raising funds for the RNLI, with the aim of buying one of these …..
Although, we would love to buy one of these …..
We stopped at nothing, in our efforts to procure donations on the day,
JEC Chairman Rob Jenner, even going so far as to frisk a local policeman for cash !!
