AJ16 4.0 2+2 Convertible lhd US Spec

Full Details

The car is a very late XJS, built on 29 March 1996.

It is a 4.0L automatic in British racing Green with a Coffee leather interior, piped in cream and a Tan hood

There is a Jaguar Heritage Certificate with it that states it is the 144th from last car ever made.

On the Heritage Certificate, the first owner is listed as a J D Brown of San Pedro California and the California certificate of title, dated 14 July 1999 also says the owner is a J D Brown of San Pedro.

Finally the bill of sale dated 06 August 2011 states the vendor as J D Brown of San Pedro.

Therefore it is reasonable to assume the car is a one owner vehicle from 1996 to 2011, i.e. 15 years.

Add to this the one owner in the UK from 2011 to 2015 who never used it (despite being in the UK from 2011, it was not registered till March 2015) and then myself makes three owners in total, only two in the UK.

It was purchased and shipped to the UK by the previous owner in 2011 and he did nothing with it until I acquired it last year in August 2015.

There is an invoice from a California official Jaguar dealer, dated July 2011 stating the mileage of 70,282.

On the 29 September 2014 MOT, the mileage was 70,315 and when I gave it an MOT test on 3 September 2015, it was reading 70,327.

So, it has only done maybe 45 miles from July 2011 to September 2015!! Since then I have done around 600 miles, the recorded mileage is 70,959 miles.

I cannot prove it but the mileage is most likely correct.

The car is fully imported into the UK and is currently on a UK registration plate.

Last year it was fully serviced it by a reputable Jaguar specialist, who also fixed the convertible hood, replaced the front brake discs and pads, all six shock absorbers, corrected the ride height, fitted new front upper wishbone bushes and wax proofed much of the car.  The parts bill for this was over £1600.00 plus the labour. All the parts are genuine Jaguar.

Invoice for recommissioning XJS

The car is 100% corrosion free and the interior and hood are extremely good to almost perfect.

It has four fairly new tyres (Bridgestone) – dated Nov 2014. – These tyres have not even covered 1000 miles, they still have the little casting bobbles on the edges of the treads.

The exterior paint is good but not perfect and there are some slight (light) indents in a couple of panels.

The original battery cover is missing and I can’t find a direct replacement, it has one from a slightly different model (FHC) that is not deep enough to fit fully.

The A/C is not working and it could do with a set of rear brake discs and pads. I will deal with both of these issues before any sale.

The bonnet liner is in poor condition, I have a brand new one that I may provide with the car if the right deal is struck.

The VIN is 226502, the last car made is recorded as 226645.

There is limited service history etc. but an odd selection of documentation including all the export/import paperwork.
