Welcome to the latest Xclusively Jaguar News Round Up!
The focus this month is very much on the X300, and therefore the cover picture features our 1997 Jaguar X300 XJR manual – ex-Jaguar Heritage, last of the line, 11,000 miles from new, 2015 Edinburgh Concours of Elegance ‘Classic of the Future’ class winner which is featured in the December 2017 issue of Classic Cars magazine.
I was delighted on opening the Jaguar Enthusiast this week, to see in your article on the Weekend generally, a reference to my red XJ40, and a complimentary one too! It made all that washing and polishing worthwhile.
Thank you very much. Perhaps on the next such occasion I can bring my X-300 4 litre manual for your perusal as well. After all it’s only twenty years old!
It was a great event and well worth repeating next year.
Once more, many thanks.
NEWS AND REQUESTS FROM OUR SPONSORS AND OUR READERS
The Open Road Classic Car Hire
After running The Open Road Classic Car Hire for 20 years, having started in 1997, we have decided to retire at the end of the 2017 Season – the end of October.
This is for a number of reasons, not least that in January of this year, Tony started working full-time for the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust in Gaydon as the Vehicle Collection Manager, responsible for the Trust’s collection of historically significant Jaguars and Daimlers. Having loved classic cars in general, and Jaguars in particular, for many years, this was too good an opportunity to miss.
We would like to thank all our customers from the past 20 years who have shared their birthdays, engagements, weddings, anniversaries, retirements and holidays with us.
We are also happy to know that we have been able to spread our love of classics to others, who have either bought cars, or completed your long term restorations, following your experiences in our cars. Many of you have emailed us pictures of cars you have bought and a number of you have driven through our gate in your new pride and joy.
Due to join us in December 2017, our latest sponsor, Swallows Racing took part in the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club Track Day at Castle Combe on 25th October offering passenger rides in their race prepped Jaguars and raised £214 for charity.
Swallows Racing are an independent Jaguar Specialist offering performance enhancements
